Is the homepage informative?
The critique-rs answer to this question was basically that the homepage should of been more about me and what the portfolio was about.
Was the projects page informative?
They said that on this page this leaned more info about me. Which is what I wanted them to get.
After reading the About me Section, do you understand of the portfolio is about.
They could understand my passion for soccer, and what I want to do.

What are the most interesting sections, Why?
One critiquer said that there favorite part about the about me section was when I said that soccer has encouraged me to strive forward toward my goals. Another said projects page, Sports and the live radio show I was in.
Name 2 things that the site should not include and 1 thing that it should definitely have.
Overall, they said that I should include my projects for DTC 355 and include more about me on the home page.
Was their difficulty using the site?
Most of them said that no it was very easy to navigate through the site.
Given the rhetorical situation, does this website make sense. If not what throws you off.
One critiquer said this," It's evident your love for soccer and Media. Perhaps add a personal statement at the top that is a brief statement of who you are and what you want to do. Then maybe  a link to your about me to find out more."
And the other critiquer said pretty much the same things.

Yes I do intend to follow all tips.  I already have a logo ready to go. My about me looks good, but it may need some more updating. I already have a contact to my email link and and all my blogs are linked too. Furthermore, my Twitter and my Facebook are clickable on my site. I just may need to put my Instagram on there as well. So I do plan to follow most of the tips that Smashing Magazine suggests. The main reason why I choose to follow these tips is because I already have them on my site and what they suggest can make my page more user friendly.

My favorite sites are Cartonblanc, Mikki Mottes, and F. Claire Scroggins because of the bright colors, the carton effects and the creativity that each site contain.  In order for me to make some of these sites I would need to know Flash, Div, Javascript and create many carton images.

My literacy narrative project will be on my Youtube subscriptions. I will analyze each one in sequence from when I first found them on Youtube to my latest subscription. Then I will give the audience a little preview of each subscription so they can become more familiar with the video content provider.

Outline:

My voice introducing the topic and what it’s about

Use about 5-10 different subscriptions and why I like each one. What types of strategies each one uses and what I learn from each one

Next, I will analyze what each subscription is about: comedy, political, sports, etc

Then I will discuss how these subscriptions have shaped my thinking and everyday life

Lastly, I will end it with a proposal so the audience can subscribe to some of these Youtube channels and why it will benefit them

What Nina Venables (the reviewer) said about my project 2 draft was very intriguing. My project still needs a lot of work and I think I can get it done with in 48 hours. I still need text but I got the layout pretty much finished

A quick summary of my project is that it focuses on Obama and Romney’s TV ads and some of their super PAC ads. The concept of my project incorporates pinning each candidate’s ads against each other, and analysis is provided to who is more effective while also including the terms that I learned in this class.

By the end, the audience will get a sense of what the ads meant and who made the most damage-hence the boxing concept of my layout. The last page of the project will show a “tell of the tape” that will contain bullet points about the candidate’s ads highlights, the facts, and the terms I learn in this class.

To get back to the peer reviewer, Nina said is that I should analysis each text with an unbiased approach. She also said that in my analysis of each advertisement of the different candidates, I shouldn’t discuss whom I’d vote for or whom the audience should find to be the better candidate. Ultimately, that makes a lot of sense because I can target many audiences. I, however, feel that if I want someone to vote for a candidate-in this case Obama- I want to make Obama seem like his ads prove more effective than Romney’s.

To address her concerns the best I can, I will analyze the text with an unbiased approach but in “The Tale of the Tape” page I will make a case for the best reason why someone should vote for Barrack Obama.

The first text I got is an ad which is called “Wrong for the Middle Class” and can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukkJYkANZ98&feature=player_embedded&noredirect=1

·         Author is Obama’s Super Pac

·         Website: Wrongforthemiddleclass.com

·         This source is the medium of a video, with music and is an ad against Paul Ryan

·         This content relates to my pitch because I am analyzing different ads and YouTube mash ups people have created for the Obama campaign and this video is perfect in showing why a voter should think twice about voting for Romney-Ryan.

Rights

·         Original

·         I do not think I need permission to use this ad because its on youtube and I am not making money by using this ad.

·         I will use links to cite my sources, because in this genre they can click on the links

The second text I have is an youtube mashup called “Barack Obama: 99 Problems (Explicit Political Remix)” an can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2C22wBf2h5k

·         Author is Diran Lyons

·         Website: http://lyonspotter.blogspot.com

·         This source is a music video parody of Obama, rapping to Jay-Z’s 99 problems.

·         I love this content because it makes Obama likeable, and that’s what my pitch is about: to get people to vote for him.

Rights

·         Original

·         Most other people have copied this video and put it on their blogs and YouTubes so I think I will be fine because it’s public now.

·         I will use the link provided to cite my website because people can click on the link.

The last ad I have is called “Firms,” by Obama for America and can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ud3mMj0AZZk

·         Author is Obama’s advertising team not a Super Pac

·         Website: Barackobama.com

·         This content is an video ad which has Mitt Romney singing in the background

·         I will incorporate this content because I can proved analysis of the context of this video and why Obama chose to use this ad and how it helps him in the election

Rights

·         Original

·         I can share this video it even says so tin the description box of the YouTube video

·         I will not intend to make money off this ad, so I can use it

·         The way I will cite this source is by providing the link in the project

The first web text, Dove Campaign for Real Beauty by Sara is very appealing to any audience. Even though it is intended to girls, it, overall, demonstrates that society’s perception of beauty is distorted by ads and corporations. Her texts make a great case for this. I enjoyed this one very much. I like how she organized it in a way that’s simple. You just click on the picture and BAMM! you are there. I found each text contributed to the larger picture and they all connected flawlessly.

The web text Life-Based Web Comics by Ariel was very different from the Dove campaign. First off, it required a lot of reading and you could not click on the images to look at them yourself. I did like the overall set up. The fact that it was talking cartons was very creative. I understood the approach but did not get the overall context of the web text. I did, however, like the way she organized her text in a sliding window. That gives me the idea to use a similar approach.

I plan to organize me web text with a large picture of Obama in the middle spread out like Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man. In each limp I plan on putting different clickable text. And then describe each one once you click on the text sort of like Dove Campaign for Real Beauty.
